How to Create a System
A system is classed as an Asset which is the Parent Type and has Child Assets tied to it.
Locate Asset Details Dataset
- Select Operations category, then Asset Details:
Create Asset with System Type
- Select New Record>Asset Details or hit Insert on your keyboard.
- Fill in the relevant fields (See How to Add Assets user guide for field explanations), making sure you check the System Tickbox as shown:
- Select the Asset Cont and Service Hours tab and fill in the relevant fields, if required:
Assign Child Assets to a System
- Within the Asset Details, select Functions>Add Child Assets.
This will open the Asset Details search screen:
- You can search for Assets one at a time if you know the Asset Numbers you wish to assign, however if you have multiple Assets to assign you can fill in as much criteria as possible to view the results in grid view:
- Select the row(s) you wish to assign to the system and select Close.
Select Yes to continue or No to cancel the operation.
Remove a Child Asset from a System
- Locate the system Asset, select the Child Asset tab, this will show you all the child assets assigned to the Asset:
- Open the relevant record, or select Open All. Select Functions>Remove Child Asset.
Select Yes to continue or No to cancel the Operation.
Enter the reason and select OK.
Note: When System type Asset Details are assigned to a Mobilisation Request, the Parent Type (Assets outlined in Red on screen shot) will show along with the Child Assets (Assets outlined in Green on screen shot) as follows:
